Are you over the whole chevron craze yet? Not me, I’m in love! I’m trying to be judicious in my use of the chevron in my house so that I stay in love with it. My husband says it reminds him of Charlie Brown {remember his yellow shirt with the chevron stripe?}. Nope, it still doesn’t ruin it for me! Check out http://www.terrysfabrics.co.uk/ for more fabric/curtain ideas. When I found that aqua chevron fabric at Hobby Lobby a month or two ago I was smitten and made a few things with it. Be forewarned, I haven’t gotten the hang of taking pictures of windows so that you can actually see what’s inside the house. I am sure half of the problem is my camera, but whatever. Lets move along! Here’s the ‘without’ pic. And here’s the after: These are just your basic, straight sewing curtains. I sew visually, not technically, so you sewers who know what you’re doing may cringe a bit. Here’s my method. I wanted my panels lined because we need some light control here. {The sun pours in this window about the time I’m making dinner}. I used an old white sheet so I didn’t have to purchase any fabric. The best thing to do before measuring is to iron your panels then pin them together. Fold your edges on the sides and on the bottom. Pin and then sew. Save the top for last! Once you finish the sides and bottom, lay your panels together so that they are lined up and fold d
own the top to sew your rod pocket. You want to make sure that they are even here so that when they hang they hang the same length. Here I eyeball where my my seams should go, checking with my rod to make sure it will fit. I folded down the top and I’m going to sew two rows for the rod pocket.
